Vedera Bio/Wiki 2018

Simultaneously aggressive, atmospheric, and emotionally forceful, Vedera can be an indie rock and roll quartet from Kansas Town, MO. Vocalist/guitarist Kristen Might and business lead guitarist Brian Small first worked jointly in a music group called Crimson Authentic; pursuing that group’s divide during the springtime of 2004, both joined makes with bassist Jason Douglas and drummer Drew Small (Brian’s younger sibling, who was simply in senior high school when the music group first shaped). The group was called Veda, partly for “Vedha,” a Hindu phrase signifying “sacred writings” and partly for Vada, the type performed by Anna Chulmsky in the 1991 film My Young lady. The new music group quickly went in to the studio room and released its initial EP, This Broken Town, though Second Character Recordings, a Kansas City-based 3rd party label. Veda eventually landed tours starting for Mute Mathematics and Owen while also writing stages with famous brands Underoath, Thrice, and Communiqué. In 2006, the group released its 1st full-length album, The Excess weight of a clear Space, before changing its name from Veda to Vedera in order to avoid legal action from a similarly named group. Vedera lost little time creating the brand new moniker, as the group reissued The Excess weight of a clear Space and logged even more road work through the following weeks, including a co-headlining tour with Dear as well as the Headlights. Vedera announced programs in early 2007 to come back to the studio room in the summertime for focus on a second recording, which would tag the band’s 1st launch for Epic Information. The final item, Phases, was digitally released in Oct 2009 and gained the band a great deal of improved publicity, including a overall performance around the MTV series The Hillsides and an area around the revamped Lilith Good tour. A physical launch of the recording followed in Feb 2010.
