Theocracy Bio/Wiki 2018
Using a sound rooted firmly in the prog and power steel traditions of bands like Dream Theater and Iced Earth, Theocracy continues to be delivering sprawling steel using a Christian spin since its inception in 2002. Originally a solo work of Matt Smith, who performed every one of the equipment on Theocracy’s self-titled debut in 2003, the task became a full-fledged music group when the Athens, Georgia-based Smith ultimately recruited other music artists – guitarists Jonathan Hinds and Val Allen Hardwood, bassist Jared Oldham, and drummer Shawn Benson – to his rock trigger. With Smith managing vocals, the quintet released the next Theocracy record, 2008’s Reflection of Souls, on Problem Records, and implemented up with another record, As the Globe Bleeds, in 2011. The music group toured intensely in the wake of As the Globe Bleeds, time for the studio room in 2016 for the Matt Smith-produced Ghost Dispatch.
