The SilverConvention Bio/Wiki 2018
Best remembered because of their disco smash “Journey Robin Journey,” the Munich, Germany-based ensemble Sterling silver Convention was shaped by manufacturers Silvester Levay and Michael Kunze, debuting in 1975 using the LP Save Me personally and credit scoring a U.K. strike with the name monitor. After topping the American graphs with “Journey Robin Journey,” Levay and Kunze recruited a trio of vocalists – Linda Thompson (never to end up being confused using the same-named vocalist and wife of guitarist Richard Thompson), Ramona Wulf, and Cent McLean – who started appearing publicly beneath the Sterling silver Convention banner; these were featured in the follow-up, “GET RIGHT UP and Boogie (THAT IS RIGHT),” that was also a smash in 1976. While another one, “Telegram,” demonstrated successful that same season in the annual Eurovision Tune Contest, Gold Convention’s reputation quickly faded, and by the finish of the 10 years the group was forget about.
