The Sherbs Bio/Wiki 2018

Australian pop group the Sherbs was shaped in 1980; its prior incarnation, Sherbet, was being among the most effective Aussie bands from the 1970s, credit scoring some strikes including “Child’s Play,” “Slipstream,” “Cassandra,” “Lifestyle,” “Summertime Love” as well as the chart-topping “Howzat.” The Sherbs’ lineup reunited vocalist Daryl Braithwaite, guitarist Harvey Adam, bassist Tony Mitchell, keyboardist Garth Porter and drummer Andy Sandow, most of whom teamed in Sherbet; following discharge of their debut LP I’VE the Skill, Harvey still left the group, and was changed by guitarist Tony Leigh for 1981’s Defying Gravity. After issuing the 1982 mini-LP Shaping Up, the group installed a farewell tour beneath the Sherbet banner before dissolving a season later; Braithwaite afterwards enjoyed an effective solo career.
