Although hailing from Seattle, seed products for the band’s development had been planted in close by Everett, WA, where Kevin Murphy (vocals, acoustic guitar), Robert Terreberry (bass), Carl Dahlen (drums), and Caleb Quick (keyboards) created a teenaged music group while going to Cascade SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL. The students found out their skill for three-part vocal harmonies, so when Murphy came back from a summer-long stay static in Alaska in 2005, the four close friends reconvened in Seattle to create the Moondoggies. Taking on residence at an area dive bar called the Blue Moon Tavern, the Moondoggies honed their art and quickly netted a agreement with Hardly Artwork, an imprint of Seattle’s personal Sub Pop Information. YOU SHOULDN’T BE a Stranger, the band’s woozy debut, made an appearance in 2008, using the mature Tidelands pursuing in Oct 2010.
