Produced Sylvester Thompson on July 1, 1936 in Holly Springs, Mississippi, he has earned his net worth from his musical career while generating strings of hits during the 60’s and 70’s. He used to play and sing with blues musicians such as Magic Sam (a next door neighbour), Billy Boy Arnold, Junior Wells and Howlin’ Wolf in the 1950’s. In 1959, he recorded with Jimmy Reed for Vee Jay. In the same year, he went solo and signed with Federal Records, a subsidiary of King Records. He subsequently started recording for Twinight records in the mid-60’s.
