Pippen helped lead Hamburg High School to the state playoffs. Pippen earned all-conference honours. Despite his accolades, Pippen’s 6’1 150-pound body was too tiny for school recruiters. No universities offered Pippen an athletic scholarship. As a favor to his trainer, the University of Central Arkansas encouraged Pippen to become a student manager for the basketball team. During the following four years in the University of Central Arkansas, Pippen grew in height to stand at 6 feet and 8 inches tall. Pippen averaged 23.6 points and 10 rebounds per match. In the 1987 NBA Draft Scottie Pippen was chosen as the Seattle Supersonics fifth overall pick. Pippen was immediately traded to the Chicago Bulls. At that time the Bulls were a fighting NBA franchise. Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen became an unstoppable power plus they helped the Bulls become a winning team. This is the first of three back-to-back tournament titles. During another seven seasons, the Bulls won a total on six titles. This is the very first Olympic team to have all-active NBA players on its roll. They won the gold medal. Scottie Pippen is a seven-time NBA All Star and an eight-time NBA All-Defensive first Team member. He’s regarded as among the best defensive small forwards in NBA history. In 2010 Pippen was inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame.
