Produced Scott Dean Boras on November 2, 1952 in Sacramento, California, he grew up in Elk Grove, California. He attended the University of the Pacific on a baseball scholarship and help led the team with a .312 batting average in 1972. He made the Florida State League All-Star team in 1976. He remains in the top ten in school history in multiple offensive categories by 2009. He was inducted to the Pacific Athletics Hall of Fame in 1995. The baseball team’s yearly “Most Improved Player” award is named in his honor.
