Rustic Overtones shaped in Portland, Me personally, hometown to all of them. Users of the seven-piece clothing are guitarist and lead vocalist Dave Gutter, drummer Tony McNaboe, trombonist Dave Noyes, baritone saxophonist Jason Ward, bassist Jon Roods, alto saxophonist Ryan Zoidis, and Spencer Albee on keyboards and piano. Roods and Gutter started performing together 1st, in a family group basement. They later on added all of those other group, all close friends from senior high school, and became what’s Rustic Overtones. Regional gigs gained them a group of fans that extended as the music group started to travel, showing up at near 200 displays some years. In 1998, the Rustic Overtones released their debut album, Areas per hour, beneath the Ripchord Information indie label. That same 12 months the group documented an EP, My Dirt, and two additional albums, Long Department and Shish Growth Bam. After departing Ripchord, the group got the opportunity to do an recording, 2001’s Viva Nueva, for Tommy Boy. The Rustic Overtones were able to pull in a few special guest performers to appear upon this launch, like Funkmaster Flex, vocalist Imogen Heap, and one extra unique visitor, David Bowie. Following a commercial failure of its major-label album, Rustic Overtones split up in 2002, after a three-hour farewell display at the Condition Theatre in Portland. On July 27, 2007, the music group reunited for another Portland overall performance, held on the top of radio train station WCYY before 6,000 followers below in Monument Square. The reunion continuing with a fresh album, Light shining at the end, initially self-issued, but released nationally by Velour GROUP on March 18, 2008.
