Ruby was the alias of vocalist Lesley Rankine, previously the frontwoman of Scottish noise-provocateurs Silverfish. After departing the group in the wake of their 1993 LP Fuckin’ Drivin’ or What, Rankine relocated from London to Seattle to collaborate with maker Tag Walk, with whom she’d previously done materials for the commercial collective Pigface.
