Riddick Bowe grew up in among New York’s toughest slum areas and became an amateur fighter at the age of 17. Bowe won the NY Golden Gloves Championship in 1984. Riddick Bowe started his professional boxing career having a knockout on beginner Lionel Butler in March 1989. His set of knockout triumphs contained matches against Bert Cooper, Olympic super heavyweight gold medalist Tyrell Biggs, Bruce Seldon and Pierre Coetzer. Riddick Bowe is the primary combatant to have conquered Evander Holyfield throughout the 1992 undisputed world heavyweight title. He was also the very first combatant to knockout Holyfield in their 1995 rubber match. His boxing profession has a record of 43-1-0 with 33 knockouts. His only undefeated challenger was Buster Mathis Jr. where they finished in a draw.
