Peter Kent Bio/Wiki 2018

Peter Kent is now a Canadian MP for the riding of Thornhill. Peter Kent was born in Sussex, England in 1943,to really well educated parents. His family moved to Canada to make Alberta, their new house. His dad retired as ‘Calgary Heralds associate editor and his mom was a part of Albertas Queens Bench. With a smaller brother and wife both working as journalists in different fields, it was no wonder that Kent also started his career as a radio journalist in the 60s. From radio journalism, Kent changed to television to join Calgary station CFCN TV in 1965. He worked for innumerable stations like CTV, CBC Television, NBC, Global and Christian Science Monitor. Yet, with America beckoning, Kent joined NBC in 1984 and got recognized for his attempts as a senior European correspondent by winning four Emmy nominations. Christian Science Computer Screens which was his next work place got him the Robert F. Kennedy Award for his characteristic report string on issues in Americas inside cities. His next step was hosting ‘MoneyWise, a business news show on Global and Prime. Peter Kent entered politics through the 2006 national elections but did not win a seat. Nevertheless, he was second time lucky in 2008 election as he defeated his rival by 5200 votes. He got the place of Minister of the Environment during a cabinet reshuffle in 2011. But, during his reign of the Minister of Environment he’d to walk the tight rope to reach ecosystem protection alongside economic development and received lots of flak from resistance for some of his opinions and activities. His determination to let Canada withdraw in the Kyoto protocol, his driving of the development of oil sands in spite of reports of pollution of the Athabasca River and many other conclusions led him to not get an excellent standing at being the Federal Environment Minister. Kent is an associate of several organizations including Canadian Broadcast Hall of Fame, Canadian Coalition for Democracies, board member of the much mentioned media advocacy group called ‘Honest Reporting Canada which is pro-Israel. The Radio-Television News Directors Association of Canada honored his attempts with the Presidents Award in 2006. Peter Kent has a daughter Trilby who’s also into this subject with her first novel by the name, ‘Medina Hill being printed in October 2009.

#Quote
1[on women as stunt performers] A lot of times the guys are wearing pads and stuff under their pants. But then you'll get a woman in a skimpy dress doing a stair fall, and you can't hide anything under that. I give kudos to a lot of the stunt-women out there because many times they take way more of a beating than the men do. 'We want you to do this in a frigging negligee. Okay.'
