At eighteen years of age, Padma was found by means of a model scout in Spain and started a successful modeling career in Paris and Milan, working for famous designers including Gianni Versace, Giorgio Armani and Roberto Cavalli. In 1999, Padma chose a fresh career guidance releasing low-calorie recipe cookbook, Simple Exotic.
