He created Global Sports in 1998 which was become a multi-billion dollar e-commerce company, GSI Commerce in 1999. In 2011, Rubin sold the business to eBay for $2.4 billion. He then took three GSI assets that eBay failed to care to bear — a leading online retailer of licensed sports merchandise, Fanatics; a leading flash sales site, Rue La La; and the prime competitor of Amazon, Shop-Runner, an innovative members-only service to build Kynetic.
