1The world is changing and the physical barriers are down now. It's time for the emotional barriers to go down. And what better place to start than school?
2I went to college in Pittsburgh at Carnegie Mellon University... studied acting there. Then I went to New York for about five years. I moved out here about 10 years ago.
3We've all had those moments where we take a person for granted.
4I believe in giving back.
5Certainly situation comedy is harder than people who are good at it make it look, but it's fun to do something different.
6There are amazing schools and amazing educators that are doing a wonderful job. And then there are a lot of educators that are not prepared to deal with inclusive education. They haven't been trained. It's really quite lovely and easy when you understand how to do it.
7I have a son, Mason, who is disabled - cerebral palsy - and he does not walk independently, sit independently or speak. He uses a talking computer. I started becoming an advocate for him when he was 3 years old.
8I'm a bit of a layman physics junkie. I don't really understand it, but I love trying to understand it.
9I am willing to lend that hand, I will continue to stay involved with my charities as long as they need me.
10It's fun to get really intense and emotionally detailed and complicated.
11I did theater at Carnegie, and in Pittsburgh and New York.
12For all of my fortune, there are many with misfortune that need a hand.
13I knew that I wanted to be an actor. Then it became about whether acting wanted me.So, I gave it a shot. It hasn't worked out too bad, so far.
1Credits George Segal as her favorite acting mentor/best friend.
2Surrogate daughter of George Segal.
3Her acting mentor was George Segal.
4Was going to star in a biopic of Frida Kahlo, but it was canceled because of a backlash from fans who insisted that a Mexican be cast. Salma Hayek has since starred in a version.
5As a mother of a child with learning and physical disabilities, Laura is a strong supporter for inclusive educational opportunities for all children.
6Cousin of Torry Castellano. (aka Donna C) of the rock group The Donnas.
7Attended Morris Knolls High School in Denville, New Jersey.
8Her son, Mason, born in 1996, has cerebral palsy and cannot walk unassisted.
9Graduated from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama with a degree in Fine Arts. Grew up in Denville, New Jersey.
10She's of Italian origin. Surname is pronounced 'San JA-co-mo'. It's a soft 'G' and the 'i' is silent. Stress on the first syllable. In English Saint James.
