Although the child was recruited by many competitive basketball programs, Malone chose to remain close to home and play for Louisiana Tech University. If professional scouts knew the player he’d grow to become, he undoubtedly would’ve been picked higher in the draft. Malone spent 18 season with all the Jazz. In this time Malone proved to be among the best power forwards in NBA history.

After 18 seasons with all the Jazz, Malone joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 2003 within an effort to win a title. In this time, Gary Payton joined the team also it appeared that Payton, Malone, O’Neal, and Bryant could be an unstoppable force. Yet as a result of horrible knee injury, Malone needed to miss 39 matches of the season. Malone failed to get a ring through the 2003-2004 season.

Karl retired in the NBA on February 13, 2005. On May 29, 2013 Karl Malone returned to the Utah Jazz to act as a large guys trainer.
