Rose got recruited to play basketball for the University of Michigan Wolverines. Rose helped the Wolverines get to the NCAA Finals matches in 1992 and 1993. Jalen Rose determined to forego his senior year in the University of Michigan and rather preferred to state eligibility for the NBA Draft. Jalen was chosen as the 13th overall pick from the Denver Nuggets in the 1994 NBA Draft.

After helping the Pacers get to the 2000 NBA Finals, Rose started averaging 25 points per match in the six-match series. Yet the Pacers lost the series to the Los Angeles Lakers. After Jalen Rose retired from playing professional basketball, he moved onto a lifetime career in broadcasting. Since 2007, he’s been employed as a analyst on ESPN’s Sportscenter. In 2012 Jalen became a cohost for NBA Countdown.
