The mellow, easy country-rock sounds of Firefall, in conjunction with the group’s penchant for pop melodies and high-pitched harmonies, produced some successful LPs in the later ’70s and some chart singles, like the TOP hit “You Will be the Woman.” The group was shaped by former Traveling Burrito Sibling Rick Roberts, who dealt with vocals, guitar, & most from the songwriting responsibilities; he was became a member of by fellow ex-Burrito and Byrd Michael Clarke on drums, ex-Spirit and Jo Jo Gunne bassist Tag Andes, guitarist/vocalist Jock Bartley, guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Larry Burnett, and keyboardist/woodwind participant David Muse, who became a member of in 1977. The group documented its self-titled debut in 1976; it and its own follow-up, Luna Ocean, both went platinum, and their third recording, Elan, proceeded to go platinum. Nevertheless, the group’s industrial fortunes started to decline, and although Muse attempted adding different devices to the entire sound, Firefall’s calm, toned-down approach just used out its pleasant as pop styles moved somewhere else. Jock Bartley re-formed the group in 1994 for the recording Messenger. Beneath the moniker Firefall Acoustic, Bartley and vocalist/guitarist Steven Weinmeister released Colorado to Liverpool: A Tribute towards the Beatles in 2007. Bartley continuing to tour beneath the Firefall name in to the second 10 years from the 21st hundred years having a lineup that included Steven Weinmeister (vocals, acoustic guitar), Sandy Ficca (drums), Bil Hopkins (vocals, bass) and Chris Ball (sax, flute and keyboards).
