He just had two losing seasons in his 36-year career of training in the league. Shula had been head coach to get a record of six Super Bowls.

Before serving as the coach for the Dolphins, Don Shula coached the Detroit Lions from 1960-1062 along with the Baltimore Colts from 1963-1969. He was also a player in the NFL from 1951-1957. Irrespective of football, he was an endorser of steakhouses, condiments as well as the weight loss program NutriSystem along with Dan Marino and other NFL players. He’s also co authored three best-selling novels about training and motivation — The Winning Edge (1973), Everyone’s a Coach (1995), and The Little Black Book of Coaching: Motivating People to be Victor (2001).
