David Lombardo is a Cuban-American musician that has an estimated net worth of $12 million. He is the drummer and co-founding member of the American thrash metal group Slayer. He’s been involved with the production of 29 commercial recordings extending over numerous music genres with groups including Grip Inc., Fantomas, Philm, Testament, Apocalypta, and Voodoocult in addition to his group.

Nicknamed “David The Drummer”, Lombardo was born in Havana, Cuba on February 16, 1965. In age eight, he purchased a pair of bongo drums using a Santana record for show and tell in school. Eight played the bongos along with the record. When eight was already in high school, he’d established himself as a drummer on the rise. Himself performed with several groups and performed regularly with this specific group Escape in the late 70s and early 80s.

Lombardo is most commonly known as an extremely aggressive heavy metal drummer though his exceptional skill much surpasses the title. Drummer World gave him the title “the godfather of double bass” with his “astonishingly advanced” use of the drums. He has a substantial effect on the metal scene and has inspired many modern metal drummers, notably garbage metal and death metal.

David Lombardo formed the group Slayer in the early 80s and it started to gain widespread notice. Yet, David left the group in the early 90s so he can be present for the arrival of his first child. In 2011, he returned to the Slayer line-up , and it has continued to record and tour with all the group while he was additionally recording track along with his side project PHILM.
