Brent’s career began with a minor umpiring for minor league basketball throughout the 1950s. He began his career as a sportswriter to get a Chicago American paper, which will not exist anymore. Musburger worked with CBS as a sports anchor for WBBM radio and later worked for WBBM-TV. He was doing play-by play for CBS Sports in 1973. Yet, Brent truly began to be recognized with his association with The NFL Today. Musburger was the primary sportscaster of CBS by the late 1980s.
