Boomer Esiason was born on April 17, 1961 inWest Islip, New York. After finishing high school, Boomer went to the University of Maryland to study and play college football. In 1984, Boomer debuted to the National Football League when he was chosen by the Cincinnati Bengals as its 38th overall pick in the second round of the 1984 NFL Draft. As a specialist football player, he was named to four Pro Bowl games (1993, 1989, 1988 and 1983. In 1988, he was a receiver of the NFL Most Valuable Player Award and in 1995, he won the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. It was in 2004 when he was elected into the Nassau County Sports Hall of Fame. Boomer played with the Bengals from 1984 through 1992 seasons. From 1993 until 1995, Boomer played for the New York Jets. In 1996, he played as a free agent for the Arizona Cardinals and prior to his retirement in 1997,Boomer Esiason played for one season for the Cincinnati Bengals.
