Bob began of his career as the host of a show named “This Old House” in 1979. In this show, he with his carpenter friend worked on renovating and beautifying a home. Yet Bob had to leave the show due to some controversies in 1989. Nobody knows for sure what the real reasons are, but there has been many conjectures going on. Some people say that he left due to a tiff together with his producer. Others state the battle began because he’d signed for some sanctions, thus breaking the contract rules. Steve Thomas replaced him about the show.

Steve became the official spokesperson for the Sears department store. From the start of 1990, Steve began hosting “Bob Vila’s Home Again”. The program ran for 16 seasons before it was cancelled by the distributor owing to the drop in viewership. He also appeared in several TV projects, like Home Improvement and Hot Shots, thus marking his stint in the comedy genre as well. He’s composed more than two dozen publications, like Bob Vila’s Guide to Buying Your Dream House. A lot of his publications are on historic dwellings of the country. Bob remains among the most accepted Cuban-Americans of our times.
