I would like folks to remember me as a full on entertainer and a good person. [Source:- “MTV Diary: Aaliyah”.]
It is difficult to say what I want my legacy to be when I am long gone.

(Aaliyah’s guidance for aspiring Musicians) Keep working hard and you’ll be able to get anything you want. If God gave you the gift, you should do it now. But do not believe it is going to be simple. It is tough!

Everything is worthwhile. The hard work, the times when you are tired, the times where you are somewhat sad . . . Finally, it is all worthwhile because it actually makes me joyful. There is nothing better than loving what you are doing. Sexy is being in tune with your sexual self. After I’m long gone, I would like to be remembered not just as an actress or singer, but as a full on entertainer.

[on her inspirations]: Sade. How amazing is sade? I picked sade because I idolize her. I have always looked up to sade. Sade and I’ve the exact same birthday which is January 16th so I feel like she’s my soul sister. What I really like about Sade is that she remains true to her fashion regardless of what. Sade can leave us for 8 years and come back and be totally mind blowing.

Being female, you are raised to be a great, sweet girl , not flip out. So I needed to give myself permission to be mean and bad. It is rough. But I have been attracted to the darker side of things.

2[on her inspirations]: Sade. How beautiful is she? I chose her because I idolize her. I've always looked up to her. She and I have the same birthday which is January 16th so I feel like she is my soul sister. What I love about Sade is that she stays true to her style no matter what. She can leave us for 8 years and come back and be absolutely mind blowing. And you gotta respect that.
3When I'm long gone, I want to be remembered not just as an actress or singer, but as a full-on entertainer.
4Sensual is being in tune with your sensual self.
5Everything is worth it. The hard work, the times when you're tired, the times where you're a bit sad . . . In the end, it's all worth it because it really makes me happy. There's nothing better than loving what you do.
