100 Proof (Aged inSoul) Bio/Wiki 2018

100 Proof (Aged in Soul) teamed Detroit region vocalists Steve Mancha (given birth to Clyde Wilson), Eddie Holiday (Eddie Anderson), and Joe Stubbs (the brother from the Four Tops’ Levi Stubbs and an alumnus from the Contours as well as the Falcons). The trio was set up by the famous writing and making group of Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier, and Eddie Holland, who in 1967 still left the Motown label to create their very own record businesses, Invictus and Scorching Wax; they agreed upon 100 Proof towards the last mentioned, and in 1969 released the group’s debut one, “WAY TOO MANY Cooks (Ruin the Soup).” The follow-up, “Somebody’s Been Sleeping,” damaged the pop TOP in nov 1970; boasting a gritty, earthy strategy closer in heart to Southern spirit than the Electric motor City’s trademark audio, the group released a set of LPs – Somebody’s Been Sleeping in my own Bed as well as the 1972 work Deliciously Yours – but hardly ever once again recaptured the industrial momentum of their first strike, finally dissolving in 1973. The 100 Resistant (Aged in Spirit) name was briefly resurrected, albeit with an all-new lineup, in 1977.
